We are a Community
As African-Americans, we are a community. Community is defined as a group of people living in the same area. A social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality; share government and often have a common cultural and historical heritage. There are approximately 5 million people who have Alzheimer's Disease. And the African-Americans may be at especially high risk for the disease.
Future Facts
By the year 2030 there will be approximately 6.9 million African-Americans 65 or older. We want to build healthy minds for the future. Remember that with increasing age we have an increased risk for developing this disease!
